Is there more to pregnancy than appointments and advice?
Pregnancy is more than appointments and advice. It can also change how you see yourself, and how the world sees you.
There is a list for almost everything. What to pack. What to buy. Which question to ask at the next appointment. Practical preparations matter, and your clinician is the right person to guide your care.
But there may be other questions that do not fit neatly on a list. What will happen to my work? Will I still make time for my friends? Which parts of myself do I want to carry into this chapter?

You can welcome the baby and have complicated feelings about the change. You can be grateful and want a conversation about something other than pregnancy. None of this makes your experience less worthy of care.
Try asking someone close to you for a different kind of conversation. Talk about your plans, your music, your hopes. Leave room for the woman who has been here all along.
Still You begins with that woman. A day that includes a pregnancy conscious session, and also lunch, creativity, laughter and the things that are simply yours.
This letter is a reflection, not medical advice. Please follow your doctor’s guidance and seek professional support when you need it.
With love,
Raya Vira
